The base consists of a steel or cast-iron fireplace insert which is then built-around. Such heating is mainly used as additional heating in permanently inhabited spaces. It is possible to use the warmth from the fireplace to heat adjacent rooms or to heat rooms further from the fireplace by using ventilation.
